Studying what it means to put off our old self and the life cycle of a butterfly, we reflect on what God has done in our life and the metamorphosis that he has brought us through, as we usher in freedom in Christ.

PUTTING OFF THE OLD - Week 2 // Inspire Weekly

Have you ever kept something that you really needed to let go of? Something that was causing more harm than good, did not work or perhaps was no longer useful for what it was made for.

This week we are Studying Ephesians 4 - 5:2 and focusing on Paul says to put off as we are in Christ. We are constantly consuming things, just like a caterpillar, as we go through life, so it is vital to stop and see whether they are the things of God or the things of this world and put off the things that are no longer useful as we follow Jesus.

PLAYLIST

Each week we feature songs that tie into what we are studying. Praying they convey these truths and more as you take time to listen to the heart and lyrics behind them.

How are your bracelets coming along? This week I wanted to show a few patterns to make your bracelet simple and easy. Each kit has a different assortment of beads but the patterns can be applied in the same ways as below if you like. There is no need for a video this week, as the patterns are pictured below.

PATTERNS

Top // Random, grab as you go

Middle // 5, 1, 5, 1

Bottom // 3, 1, 3, 1

CREATE IT // Bracelet Basics

How are your jewelry making skills? I consider myself a beginner but love trying out new techniques. This week I am sharing a few basic tips to get to you started on your bracelet. Some of the tips listed below are self explanatory and not mentioned in the video tutorial.

ORGANIZING BEADS

I love trays and keeping things like these neat when I can. If you have a little tray it is perfect for keeping the beads in place.

LAY OUT THE PATTERN

For some laying out the beads in their pattern first is helpful as you bead to see what it will look like before you string it. This saves time, as you won’t have to take it out over again if you do not like it.

MEASURE AS YOU GO

If you want a fluid, random pattern and are making the bracelet for yourself, this may be perfect for you. String beads to your liking, putting it around your wrist occasionally to see if it is the correct length.

TYING A SURGEON’S KNOT

There are a few different ways to finish off your bracelet. Tying a surgeon’s knot seems to be the easiest and best fit for the cord. I used twine to demonstrate so it would show up better. Once you finish, you can tuck the knot under one of the beads to hide it or keep it exposed, your call.
